Permits
Permits are issued to vehicle and marine operators/owners for specific
purposes in relation to road and marine transport in South Australia.
The following permits are available:
- Fees information
- Heavy Vehicle Permit
- Learner’s
Permit
A person wishing to obtain a driver’s licence must first
qualify for and obtain a learner’s permit.
- Parking Permits for people with
disabilities
A person who is unable to use public transport because of a permanent
or temporary physical impairment and
whose speed of movement is severely restricted because of that
impairment may apply for a disabled persons
parking permit.
- Special Boat Operator’s
Permit
This is a form of restricted licence
available to children between the age of 12
and 16 years.
- Unregistered Vehicles
Short term unregistered vehicle permits are available for vehicles
that are not currently registered, and need to be driven on the
road for a specified reason, journey and time.
- Visitor’s Registration
Permit
You may apply for an Interstate Visitor’s Permit if you
are from interstate and the registration
label for your vehicle has been lost
or destroyed. Overseas visitors travelling through South
Australia with an overseas registered vehicle may apply for a
permit to drive the vehicle in South Australia.
